Yes, General Kellogg literally told war stories for about 24 hours straight. The exact timeframe doesn't matter, the point is, Author spent the time between when General Kellogg sent the Flying Spoons out and when Mav, Dante, and Zoru destroyed the core reluctantly listening to General Kellogg's war stories.

For those interested, the second part of the story (which doesn't link up perfectly with the first, since there was a significant chunk of time between yesterday's and today's comics) goes as follows:

"So there I was facing down four Keeblers alongside Sam himself. The boys were picking off elves from the ramparts. The Keeblers attack but they were no match for Sam. The bird may not look it but he’s skilled with a blade and many forms of unarmed combat. Soon more elves joined the fray and before we knew it we were overrun. I had no choice but to leave Sam and go issue commands to the forwards unit… Which consisted entirely of scarecrows. You see the Keebler Elves are deathly afraid of straw and clothes with patches on them, so I decided to make soldiers out of straw and patched clothing. Mind you there were no scarecrows before this time, and naturally I didn’t call them scarecrows, but Ultra Super Keebler Killers, despite the fact that they didn’t actually kill any Keeblers. It was due to my brilliant invention that farmers everywhere have a means to defend their crops against the savage beasts. It was an ingenious strategy on my part and it proved the deciding factor in the fight."

And for those of you who are confused about the timeline of the past few comics, let me make it perfectly clear.

1) 1009-1010
2) 1033-1040
3) 1012-1023
4) 1041
5) 1025-1032 AND 1042-on

Hopefully that'll clear up all the chronological issues. lol
